SOUND DIALOGUE

This concert is meant to offer an invitation for listeners to engage in Sound Dialogue. This dialogue can be internal, can be drawn from the senses (olfactory, visual, kinesthetic), can be written, or can be spoken in reflection.

The music to be performed is for solo cello and speaks to the layered threads of our collective humanness. The states of being that we inhabit and pass through over time and within one given day. It also aims to speak to the narratives of composers Chad Hughes and Aldophus Hailstork. African American composers who carry a deep legacy of sound into their works. I will be joined by guest artists to guide the audience in this Sound Dialogue!

Lead by cellist Rebecca Merblum and Guests Shannon Gibney and Lesley Kadish
